My four years at NOTES as writer, and later editor-in-chief and production artist, were some of the most rewarding I've known, both professionally and personally. The opportunity for this much hands-on in so many areas does not come often. In addition, the newsletter staff as well as the staff of WJHU (now WYPR) were the best in so many ways.

Editor-in-chief, managing editor, staff manager, designer, writer, editor, procurer and editor of photography, layout and production artist, print production manager. No stock photography or NPR-provided stories ever used. From the time I took over as editor-in chief until the end of my tenure, the newsletter was never late.
